With the start of the New Year I want to introduce some of the different ways our books help families. I started writing and publishing books to help families with their food choices and then added other books and resources to help promote family well-being through healthy living.
From the beginning, the goal was to prepare foods in season, such as what to do with all those apples. Now there are three cookbooks on ways to prepare apples. Healthy to the Core! All Natural Low Sugar/No Sugar Apple Recipes for Kids is the latest. 
Then came cookbooks to provide children with food ideas and ways of preparing food through all the seasons of the year. Author Amy Houts wrote the book: Cooking Around the Calendar with Kids – Holiday and Seasonal Food and Fun.
This was followed by it’s companion cookbook: Cooking Around the Country with Kids – USA Regional Recipes and Fun Activities.
Both books for children ages 5 to 15 get kids involved in food and cooking. This life skill is something children will use for the rest of their lives. Parents and teachers will find these books natural extensions to the home or classroom.
Another appropriate book for home or school is a character building book about a tribe of optimistic Mukies confronted with many of the same problems found in current society, such as bullying, name calling, jealousy, and racism. Kids learn ways of living in a more peaceful society through good decision making. Listening to the Mukies and Their Character Building Adventures is currently #44 in Amazons best selling books on citizenship.
