Dr. Martin Luther King Day is Monday, January 21 and has been celebrated since 1986. Dr. King’s dream was that
everyone in the world would practice tolerance and compassion toward their fellow man. He is remembered as a non-violent advocate of equality for all men and women.
Dr. King wrote five books over his lifetime, published many articles, and was a Nobel Peace Prize Laureate.
Perhaps his most noted work is his “I Have a Dream” speech. That dream must continue in our hearts as we remember him and strive toward peace and justice for all peoples.
This can even include such daily works as being good citizens concerned about our neighbors – our world-wide neighbors.

Thank you, Lee, for that caring essay about Martin Luther King. We need leaders like King who believe in non-violence, and equality for all men and women. His “I have a dream” speech never fails to inspire me and to touch my heart.

Thank you for your interest and posting to the site! Yes, it was a day to remember a great man who died for his efforts of achieving a kinder and more-tolerant world. Will we ever achieve this (his) dream??
